Our Manifesto

“A group of home technology installation companies have founded the Home Cinema Alliance to showcase the excellent work of all HCA Member companies that have created amazing cinema rooms.

Earlier in the week we took delivery of some stunning Fortress home cinema seating for one of our clients in Nottingham. Fortress seating is hand made in the USA from a company that is over 75 years old, Fortress started making cinema seating in the late 1990’s and are well regarded as the most luxurious seats for cinemas in the world.

Cinema@Home completed the Trinnov Training for level 1 certification at Pulse Cinemas. Incorporating Trinnov Audio into your home cinema helps create truly exceptional audio experiences, and will set our projects apart with cutting-edge technology and unparalleled sound quality.

This home cinema in Peterborough features 10 seats, laser projection from Sim2 onto a 127 inch screen, Starscape ceiling, Anthem MRX 1140 Amplifier, Paradigm Speakers, RTi control system.

Our Northampton Home Cinema is now complete, This blog post shows what was installed and how it turned out. Cinema has a 120” screen, MRX1140 Amplifier, BenQ w4000i projector, Paradigm speakers, star-ceiling, frontrow seats and RTi remote control.

Earlier this year Ben was elected as an Associate Member of the Institute of Acoustics after completing the Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control at the University of Derby.

“The Institute of Acoustics is the UK's professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration. It was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics and the British Acoustical Society (a daughter society of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers). The Institute of Acoustics is a nominated body of the Engineering Council, offering registration at Chartered and Incorporated Engineer levels.

Wandering around the Star Wars world was great fun, picking out all the small interactive parts of the environment. The build quality is amazing, definitely some great ideas for future Star Wars cinemas from our visit.

Even the queue for the rides features awesome work to help suck you into the Star Wars world and looking at all the technology, doors, walls and droids really helped take out the tiredness of any wait for the rides.

Rako Training!

We were down in Rochester training with Rako Controls Ltd on their brilliant lighting systems.

Lighting systems help give our home cinemas feeling, adding exciting and dramatic moods to the environment.

Rako lighting controls are simple to use and allow us to create amazing lighting scenes to bring the best out of home cinemas.

Interior Design

Interior Design & Furniture Show!

This Sunday (yesterday) we took a visit to NEC in Birmingham to take a look at The Furniture & Interior Design Show.

There were some great pieces of furniture here that would look amazing in a home cinema.

Acoustics of a home cinema are one of the most important parts of the design, here we discuss the 3D Skyline acoustic diffusor we built for the rear of a home cinema room.

Speaker Cable Thickness.

Speaker cables are used to connect an amplifier or receiver to speakers, and the thickness of the cable can have an impact on the quality of the sound that is produced.

This cool home cinema is built into shipping containers and features acoustic designs to ensure it sounds awesome in such a tight space.

This amazing shipping container building needed a really cool cinema room, our design was completed in Sketchup.

The new owners of this Georgian period home were looking for an amazing room to spend great family time in.

Our home cinema demo room facility is featured with interviews with Ben Hobbs about how CInema@Home went about designing and building their amazing home cinema demo room.

We had the opportunity to host our suppliers Pulse Cinemas recently - They were keen to see the level of performance we were able to do demonstrate with the equipment they represent.

Whilst here Simon interviewed Cinema@Home owner/founder Ben Hobbs for his Sofa Sessions.

Our home cinema demo room is now complete, it features the latest in 4k projection with a Sim2 Domino projector. Sound is provided through an Anthem MRX1140 and Paradigm Pro speakers in an 5.2.4 configuration. Two Paradigm Defiance X12 subwoofers provide the low end. Kaleidescape movie system provides the highest bitrate, ultra 4k Dolby Atmos movies.

It’s week 10 of working on our home cinema demo room build and we are fitting subwoofers, motorising cinema recliners, tracking down and eliminating buzzes and rattles and putting our AV Rack in.
